Northeast startups are going global with the support and help of the GOI.
Expo 2020 was a World Expo hosted by Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. Originally scheduled for 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being postponed, organizers kept the name Expo 2020 for marketing and branding purposes.
Here are the list of startups that participated at the recently concluded Dubai Expo 2020.
#1 Taret Foods, Manipur
Taret Foods are into the value addition of Manipuri black rice through producing innovative food products.
#2 Pristine Foods, Nagaland
Pristine Foods is a processing unit that is focused on using under-utilized produce like wild and exotic fruits.
#3 Hill Garden, Manipur
Hill Garden is a company based in Manipur that focuses on processing exotic fruits that are considered waste and thereby, helping farmers increase their income.
#4 Beyondarie, Assam
Beyondarie collects teas from the forests of North-East India and blends them with potent herbs, thereby creating products that are healthy and good for the consumers and the planet.
#5 Jome Foods, Nagaland
Jome Foods is the first experiential food company out of North-East India, which is a culmination of food and experiences. Jome Foods plan on introducing products like wild forest honey from the jungles of Nagaland to quality turmeric from the North East.
#6 NE Origins, Sikkim
NE Origins is a market linkage company that helps a variety of unique, indigenous products of North-East to get GI tagged and be showcased at the global market.
#7 Smoky Jack, Meghalaya
Smoky Jack is a food-processing unit that works with jackfruit products in producing healthy, jackfruit based superfoods.
