NE in ISL – Hormipam wins emerging player of the Month award

Hormipam Ruivah from Ukhrul, Manipur has been awarded the emerging player of the month award for March 2022.

Ruivah Hormipam got better and better for Kerala Blasters FC with each passing game in the final phase of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) in March, earning him the Emerging Player of the Month award.

Playing a key role as the final line of defence for the Blasters, the 21-year-old presented himself as a consistent starter in head coach Ivan Vukomanovic first XI, giving him the luxury to utilise his foreign players in the offence.

The defender was picked as the first choice for the award by four out of the 14 experts. His teammate Prabhsukhan Gill came in 2nd place with 2 first picks and Akash Mishra of Hyderabad FC came in 3rd place.

Hormipam has become the fifth recipient of this award after Mumbai City FC’s Lalengmawia Ralte (November), ATK Mohun Bagan’s Liston Colaco (December), Bengaluru FC’s Roshan Naorem Singh (January), and Kerala Blasters FC’s Prabhsukhan Gill (February).
