Itanagar, August 11: More than 2000 violators of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) have been detected by Arunachal Pradesh Police after the complete draft National Register of Citizens (NRC), Assam, was published last month.

A PR said that the Arunachal Pradesh DGP has stated that the exact number of detected ILP violaters in Arunachal Pradesh currently stands at 2,333.

AP’s Director General of Police (DGP) SBK Singh shared the numbers in the state cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday.

663 among the 2,333 violators were found in Papum Pare district of which Papum Pare city alone reported a total 532 cases. West Kameng district reported 354 such cases.

While Tawang and Anjaw, both border districts, recorded four and five cases respectively, he said Kra Daadi district was the only one where no ILP violation has been reported during the period.

The PR informed that the SPs have been asked to check the ILPs at places like building construction sites, motor workshops, and dhabas. SPs of the districts are personally monitoring the checking of ILP on daily basis and reports are being collected every day, say reports.
