Atleast 23,456 houses spread across 304 localities and villages were damaged by the recent flood that claimed seven lives.
Though flood situation has improved, over 59,170 people are reported to have been taking shelter at 174 relief camps opened by the state government, according to government reports.
As per state relief and disaster management department, all together 51,689 victims from different flood affected areas were evacuated till 4 p.m. today.
Relief materials including essential commodities like rice, dal, edible oil, candle, mosquito coil, etc were distributed among those affected by flood.
Central and state forces have been deployed for immediate assistance of the victims, the authority said.
The flood claimed seven lives and one still reported to be missing. The flood also claimed the lives of 400 animals and damaged 3,947 hectares of agricultural land.
Following incessant rainfall in the past few days, several parts of the valley and hill districts of Manipur (Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, Kamjong, Jiribam, Churachandpur, Pherzawl and Kangpokpi) were affected.
